MLK Observtions

"Today I went to the big kids class [the kindergarten]. They read a book about a dead guy named Dr. Martin... except he wasn't dead in the book."

Mom: Oh yeah? He's one of my favorite people.

Dad: What else do you know about him?

"He had a birthday."

Dad: That's right! Do you know when his birthday is?

"It was Monday."

Mom: That was yesterday. You're right. Do you know anything about him? Did he say anything?

"Um, yeah... I think so. He had a loud voice and he said, 'This is my dream!!'"

Dad: What was his dream?

"oh, I don't know."

Dad: He wanted everyone to be treated fairly.

"He wanted people to be fairly, Mommy."

[Mommy loves her 3-year-old.]
